Use your Voice !

This project is about the voices of the South, the voices that were once unheard and the power in the voice of the people.

Task 1: You will read a chapter from a novel called Journey to Jo'burg by Beverly Naidoo.
Based on the headings given to the 7 previous chapters, you will write what had happened before Chapter 8.
Remember : you must respect the characters, the narrator, the mood, the voice. Your writing must be cohesive and coherent.

Task 2: You are a journalist for United Nations and you will report the events that take place many years later, when Naledi, Tiro and the boy, who is now a young man, are in a demostration that turns violent.
You are free to decide on the role each of the 3 characters has.

Task 3: Some more voices from the South...
Dreamtime stories are important in the tradition of Australian aborigenes. They explain their beliefs and ways to see the world.
After watching some of the videos here, you will create what could be called " My own dreamtime story"
or you will write the film review of one of the stories in the context of a Shorts Festival next month link on how to do it here
